Richard III to be reburied in Leicester Cathedral

The remains of Richard III, who ruled England from 1483 to 1485, will be reburied in Leicester in 2015.

The ruler’s remains were excavated from beneath a parking lot in the city in 2012 and verified by DNA analysis in 2013. Since then, “passions have been roused and much ink has been spilt” about Richard III’s life and where to rebury his bones, according to the Royal Courts of Justice in London. The British court ruled on May 23 that Richard III should be permanently laid to rest at Leicester Cathedral.
