Holding degrees in biochemistry and psychology, she blends scientific knowledge with a deep passion for creating compelling, impactful narratives. Prior to joining Science News, Mandana was a video producer at WETA, where she worked on projects, from award-winning documentaries about veterans struggling with PTSD, to videos that bring the science of reading into classrooms across America, and interviews with acclaimed children's authors and illustrators. Mandana also created content focusing on climate change and clean energy and was a news anchor, reporter, and producer at Voice of America, where she interviewed a diverse range of subjects, from politicians to artists.
Things that bring her joy are her dog, Pixie, donuts, and, creating – from visual arts to baking to telling stories that resonate and inspire.
