She has an undergraduate degree in biology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland — College Park. Before Science News, she published with the National Geographic Society, Capital News Service and Planet Forward. In her free time, Abby enjoys gardening, scuba diving, keeping the movie theater industry afloat and curling up with a good book.
