A study of creatures that fly around at night supplies a new answer to the question of why some bats avoid hunting under a full moon.

LURKER. The tropical bat Lophostoma silvicolum literally hangs out waiting for its insect prey to fly near enough to catch in a short flight, a hunting style that doesn’t work well when the prey stays home.
